User Survey: Win a Free Trial of Premium!
Interested in a free one-month trial of the Wowhead
Premium Service
? :)
Wowhead, along with the rest of ZAM, has a survey up on SurveyMonkey right now, asking simple demographic questions. We're using it to give to advertisers, so they can run advertisements on the site that are for things that you might, you know, actually want to
buy
—ie, no more "Shoot the Duck". So if you're interested in giving Premium a trial run, or if you just want the ads on Wowhead to get better, go take our survey!
LINK REMOVED
Edit: We're all out of trial codes! Thanks to everyone who took the survey. :)
Please Note:
This is a one-month free trial of the ZAM Premium Service, which includes Premium access to
Wowhead
,
ZAM.com
, and
MMOUI / Wowinterface
.
Since it's a free trial code, it doesn't have any effect on users who are already Premium (though we would love to have you fill out the survey anyway).
Trial codes can only be used once per account.

Fallen Earth
to get special Beta invites for ZAM users. If you're interested in giving the game a shot, head on over and check it out!

this blog
.
Now the beta version of the Minion is out! Continue reading to see what

ZAM Rolls Out 'Free Realms' Site
So I know it's not always kosher to post non-WoW-related news up here, but I thought I would take the time to mention this one, because I'm personally kind of excited about this game.
For those of you who haven't heard yet, it's called
Free Realms
, and it's the most recent game from Sony Online Entertainment—the makers of the Everquest series, among several others. Free Realms is one of the first forays by a major US MMO publisher into the free-to-play space, and it actually looks pretty interesting. For once, here's a brand new major MMO that's NOT just trying to do the WoW thing in a different way—and since it's free, and it downloads and installs remarkably quickly, there's really no reason NOT to try it out. :)
Of course, when an awesome new game comes out, the folks here at the
ZAM Network
have to cover it, so ZAM has just rolled out it's brand new
Free Realms
site!

Crossover Circus! With Prizes to Boot!
Many of you are familiar with many, many MMOs. From EverQuest to Dark Age of Camelot to The Matrix Online and everything else in between. Oh, and Warcraft! Others of us, however, are only familiar with a few, if even just one.
Zam.com
is hosting an Age of Conan
contest
called the "Venture into Hyboria." To enter, you visit their forum thread and write a short back story explaining how your MMO avatar made it to Hyboria. It can be serious, funny, or silly - some of you who are more inclined to back stories and RP might get a kick out of it! One lucky grand prize winner will get a GameRigs
custom desktop gaming PC system
in an Age of Conan case!
"Age of Conan", what?! Well, sort of. The idea of the contest is that your character from your favorite MMO (WoW, DAoC, whatever!) ventures into Hyboria, a setting for Age of Conan. Think of it as a cameo appearance by your character in another game!
Here's a

ZAM Enters the MMO Industry with TMNT Online!
That's right, ladies and gentlemen—ZAM is getting into the gaming business. The ZAM Network has announced development of its first original title:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Online!
TMNTO gives the players the choice of a number of exciting classes, including the Ninja Rat, the Reporter, the Sports Vigilante, and (of course) the Ninja Turtle. In addition to this, though, TMNTO breaks new ground in the MMO industry by not only implementing voice recognition software that genuinely allows you to speak to the NPCs—It's
also
the first MMO in history to completely do away with the idea of experience points. Character upgrades are purchased with "Turtle Points", bought via microtransaction at the Turtle Store, and then activated by shouting "Cowabunga" into your microphone!

ZAM Interviews MDY Lawyer on Addon Policy
So our friends over at the ZAM.com news site have posted a very interesting interview—this time with a lady named Connie Mableson.
Connie is the lawyer who represented MDY (known to most of you as the company that created the infamous "Glider" program) in the legal action that took place between Blizzard and MDY. She also represented the very first business to try and make money off of the Internet, was the first lawyer to open a law office in a virtual world—in this case, Second Life. She's
also
an avid WoW player, and she has some very interesting theories about the motivating factors behind Blizzard's recent UI policy change.
Having read the article, I don't agree with the conclusions she's come to. But either way, it's interesting to see her opinion on a highly controversial topic.
Head on over to ZAM.com to
check it out!
