Noblegarden (April 8 - 15th) Guide
It's time for
Noblegarden
--a hunt for loot, this time in the form of brightly colored eggs! We join together to "share the joy of life and friendship" all the while looking for carefully hidden eggs and devouring tons of chocolate!
Noblegarden
starts on
April 8 at 3:00 AM
and ends on
April 15 at 3:00 AM
.
Brightly Colored Eggs
have been hidden all across the starting areas for both Alliance and Horde players to discover. These eggs can contain chocolates which serve as a currency to buy seasonal goodies--sometimes they also have special prizes! Simply head out to one of your faction's starting areas, grab some quests, and get out there and hunt eggs! Maybe you'll even earn some achievements along the way!
Remember, this year, a new mount is tied to the event:
Primavestruz Ligeiro
! It costs 500 Noblegarden chocolates this year--very lucky people will be able to find it in a Brightly Colored Egg as a very rare drop! There are also
Diadema Orelhudo Rosa
and
Diadema Orelhudo Preto
for Azeroth fashion aficionados!

Frostbitten: Guide to All Rares, Part 2
We covered a number of rare spawns in
Beyond Bloody Rare: A Guide to Rares
last year, but we found even more fun ones we wanted to share with you!
While some rares drop a random assortment of greens, a fair amount have specific loot associated with them--some for transmog, some just for status or bank alts. Rares have a ton of personality with their unique models and names, usually after pop-culture references, so it's fun when their loot has some humor as well. We scanned all the rares in the database to see which ones had anything notable!
In this guide, we've provided mouseover images of the rares, maps, and links to any unique loot drops.
In the previous guide, we covered: rares for achievements, hunter tames, notably-named ones from classic instances and zones, and Cataclysm rares.
A note on droprates: many of these mobs had their levels and loot tables adjusted in Cataclysm. Drops that were nearly guaranteed from mobs are now extremely rare. If the loot's been rescaled for Cataclysm though to match a mob's new level, chances are it still exists in game--as several users have reported. If an item's level doesn't match a mob's l

Transmogrification Guides, Part 7: Quest Armor (Updated for 5.4)
Our
Transmog database
contains quest sets from each expansion. Some of these items are only from one quest in the game--better to discover a set you like now, instead of after you've vendored that unique quest reward!
This guide covers all of the quest transmog sets in the game. They're organized by expansion and armor type with information on how to acquire them and basic colors.
Plus, you can mouseover each set to see what it looks like!

Best in Show: A Guide to All Shirts
Shirts can't be transmogged, but a well-chosen one can change the look of everyday gear. They're not restricted by class or armor limitations, so nothing is out of reach for avid collectors. They're great for both bank alts, players looking to cover up skin, or show off a rare find.
Plus, Ashelia has always wanted a shirt guide, and since this week marked a year for her at Wowhead, I thought it was a good time to write such a guide!
I've organized all the shirts by color, as well as providing descriptions, acquisition methods, and crafting materials. The descriptions are more elaborate than in the past--besides a written blurb, there's toggled user-submitted screenshots for every shirt.

Wowhead's Mists of Pandaria Guide
With the recent massive
talent calculator updates
, we thought it would be a fitting time to highlight our
Mists of Pandaria Guide
. We created it
right after BlizzCon
, including everything from BlizzCon transcripts to blue posts organized by topic for easier reference.
Most importantly, we've been updating it regularly since November with subsequent Blizzard coverage and talent calculator updates. In the past few weeks alone, there's been a ton of new information released that we've added to our comprehensive guide. Even if you've browsed our guide when it was first released, there's bound to be something new for every topic now!

too daunting, but still like questing? There's still a ton of quest-related achievements out there. This guide covers all the achievements tied to specific dailies or questing zones. I've also highlighted several outstanding user guides and comments about achievements--I couldn't have explained those achievements better myself. We're always looking for more guide contributions, so if you have a favorite achievement you want to talk about--share it

Love is in the Air (February 5th - 19th) Guide
Ah,
love is in the air
in the World of Warcraft: sweet flowers, perfume, and sharing gifts with loved ones! But, what's this? A sinister plot is afoot involving some shady goblin newcomers to the seasonal market--the Crown Chemical Company! It's up to us to help save Azeroth from their chemically altered goods all while spreading love and appreciation to our faction leaders and fellow players!

50 Easy Elders: Getting the Lunar Festival Pet
The biggest draw of the 2012 Lunar Festival is the new vanity pets--but the catch is that the Festival vendors sell different ones to each faction for 50 Coins of Ancestry. However, the pets are BoE, so we'll show you the easiest way to get 50 Elders if you rolled an alt for the pet, but got stumped after ??-level guards one-shot you in Brill. Whether you want to sell extra pets for gold, roll a toon on the opposite faction to put the pet on the Neutral AH, or don't have enough tokens on your main to buy everything you want (like engineers), this guide can help.
This guide provides maps and tables organized by difficulty level for each faction. For Elders that are tricky or located far away from flight paths, I've also provided tips to reach them without dying, after personal experience on my 58 deathknight and 62 mage.
For the purposes of this guide, I will assume that you only have ground riding. Deathknights have flight paths in 1-60 zones learned automatically, so getting to 60 for a Flight Master's License is not that important if your'e that class. However, you will be able to get 4+ more Elders easily with flying.

Lunar Festival (Jan 22 - Feb 12) Guide
It's time for the first in-game holiday of 2012, the
Lunar Festival
--so everyone break out the fireworks, show a little respect for your
elders
, and come celebrate the (lunar) new year!
The
Lunar Festival
is held every year starting on a date that typically coincides with the Chinese New Year. 2012's Lunar Festival starts on
January 22
and ends on
February 12
. Ancestors of Azeroth are praised and honored by both Horde and Alliance, who then reward players with a special title,
Elder <Name>
, a celebration in Moonglade, and numerous
Moeda dos Ancestrais
that can be used to purchase festive garb, patterns and fireworks!
There aren't too many changes this year, but there are a few notable ones:
Anciãos do Cataclismo
introduces 9 new elders to visit and honor--bringing the total numbers of elders up to 84.
Lanterna Lunar
and
Lanterna do Festival
are new faction-specific vanity pets that cost 50
Moeda dos Ancestrais
each. They are BoE, meaning you can trade them on the neutral AH to collect both. Check out our guide to the [url=

Traveling Around Azeroth: A Transportation Guide
Getting around Azeroth quickly is important--especially with holidays requiring lots of travel like the Lunar Festival and Love is in the Air coming up. Basic flight paths can take you anywhere, but they're slow and easily up to 15 minutes across a continent. And which boat goes where from Stormwind anyway? There are numerous items, teleports, and portals that can shave minutes off your travel experience--whether you're looking to get to an Outland instance to farm transmog gear or have archaeology digsites scattered across the world. There's even breadcrumb quests that you can hold onto which will provide useful ports!
With this guide, you'll learn about all the travel options on each continent. You'll never have to spam trade looking for a mage to port you to a major city again!
Travel Basics
Flight paths are what most players will use to travel between nearby zones, and Cataclysm added many new flight paths to the game. You can view them for a particular region by looking at our zone maps and turning on the flight path option. Continent maps also show boat/zeppelin paths as well.

A Guide to Collecting TCG Vanity Items
TCG items have long been the highlight of many Wowhead contests, thanks to our friends at
Cryptozoic
, and I personally love collecting TCG mounts and giving pet codes to friends! Not all players know about them though, besides going 'cool mount' when they see someone in a major city, so here's everything you need to know about them.
Before I list all the TCG items, their details, and equivalent items, here's some basic facts:
As part of the Trading Card Game, there are three cards in every new set that have special codes which can be redeemed for loot! These loot cards vary in rarity--generally there will be a commonly-acquired pet card, a somewhat-rare novelty item, and an extremely-rare mount.
To get your item, first you will need to go to WoW's
Promotion Page
and enter in the 25-digit code. This will then give you an in-game code that can be redeemed by Landro Longshot in Booty Bay.
If you're uninterested in testing your luck with random packs of cards, there are alternate ways to get loot cards--for a price. Any TCG card or the exact code written on the card may be sold for real life money and not in-g

Darkmoon Despoiler: A Guide to Farming Darkmoon Artifacts
The Darkmoon Faire is back in town and it's time to start collecting tickets again for all those new vanity items. While there are mini-games and profession quests to help you along, the bulk of your monthly tickets will come from turning in special Darkmoon artifacts, so it's time to get farming! As it appears players are unable to farm low-level instances for artifacts now, we've listed all the possible bosses that drop them.
You will need
Guia do Aventureiro de Negraluna
in your inventory to be eligible to loot these artifacts. It can be obtained by talking to
Selina Severo
at the Faire or
Anfitriã da Feira de Negraluna
/
Anfitriã da Feira de Negraluna
outside the portal.
As a maximum of 145 tickets can be acquired per month, and 80 of these tickets come from item turn-ins, this is definitely something you want to farm if you're after mounts, pets, or look-alike heirloom gear.
You can continue to loot duplicate artifacts if you already have one in your inventory. However, you cannot turn in duplicate artifacts in the same month.
Artifacts drop from specific areas--certain types of bosses (humanoids, reptiles, casters, etc), raids, or from enemies in PvP.
Several PvP artifacts appear to be bugged and cannot be redeemed at the Faire this month. T

Transmogrification, Part 5: Grey and Starter Look-Alike Gear
If you've ever wanted to transmog your Shaman's gear into the Twill Set, you're in luck! Today's guide rounds up transmogrifiable armor that resembles BoE greys and starter gear--armor that looks neat but can't be transmogged.
Players are not allowed to transmog their gear into uncommon/common-quality items--this means items like vendor trash, starter gear, and holiday rewards are out. However, there's numerous greens that share the same models--some are pretty stylish! Remember, you can mouseover the transmog sets to see what they look like. (Note: some cloth sets may display a robe instead of the relevant shirt.)

2011 Changes
World of Warcraft's version of Christmas has been more or less the same for several years now minus the unique gift every year is known for. This year it has been changed fairly significantly so before we get started with the guide, we'd like to get these out of the way.

Nimble Fingers: A Guide to Acquiring Fangs of the Father
Rogues get a new legendary set in 4.3--perhaps to deal with all the melee balance problems in Firelands! Like the means of acquiring
Fúria do Dragão, o Descanso de Tarecgosa
, rogues will obtain this legendary through a series of quests interspersed with looting items from raid encounters. While completing the entire quest series does require a raid, there's a ton of great solo content at the start, such as exciting high-stakes stealth missions.
For background: check out the quest series in Badlands covering Rheastrasza, the ambitious red dragon who acquired a black dragon egg and magically purified it, cleansing it of the Black Dragonflight’s corruption. This questline covers the fate of the purified egg and introduces the enigmatic Black Prince, Wrathion--in a storyline taking the enterprising rogue to Dragon Soul, Karazhan, Ravenholdt Manor, and much more in the process.
In this guide, I've provided a list of all the quests--their objectives, dialogue descriptions, and relevant notes and tips to help you get through each step faster! Maybe you've got a fresh 85 rogue alt and are wondering how far you can get with solo questing, or raid only a semi-regular basis and want to know how long each raiding step will take.

Transmogrification at Wowhead: Guides and Features
Most everyone is running around Stormwind and Orgrimmar in their shiny transmogrified gear, but if you're still stumped on finding an outfit or want an even better one, we've got resources for you--from new features to extensive guides! A few weeks ago, we launched our first new Transmogrification feature:
Transmogrification sets

We compiled over 1,100 matching itemsets--sets of gear that match, even if Blizzard didn't explicitly group them together. From classic Tier sets to matching gear from Troll heroics, we've got it covered!
We labeled some sets as "Recolor" or "Look-alike." A look-alike set has the same pattern and silhouette as class-specific tier, but with either a different color scheme or no class restrictions.

Dragon Soul: A Guide to Gearing up in 4.3
4.3 launched this week; it's time for another guide to gearing up in a new patch. As usual, this guide does not aim to provide a BiS set of heroic Dragon Soul gear for each class and spec; rather it analyzes the new loot in the context of current options for several different playstyles.
There's two notable new ways to acquire gear: Looking for Raid and expanded Valor Point loot tables.
Looking for Raid:
Players can now queue up as a group or by themselves to join a 25-man raid. These raids will not have a lockout and they will drop tier 13, although the stats will be lower than a normal or heroic 25-man. The LFR system operates much like the current dungeon finder and even minimizes the raid itself, splitting it in half, so players can only queue for half of an instance at a time. Players need a minimum ilvl of 372 to be eligible to queue.
Valor Points:
While players cannot purchase Tier 13 pieces with Valor Points, the vendors sell ilvl 397 items for practically every slot. Those that aren't covered by points are covered with new BoE craftables. The idea is to have Valor Point gearing become an alternative path to normal-mode gearing.
This guide covers the following types of loot:

Questing in Cataclysm: The Best Quests and Rewards
With a bit of a break this holiday weekend, it's time for an old-fashioned quirky guide--this time on quests and fun quest rewards.
Around a year ago, the revamped 1-60 content was unveiled, providing players with a fresh way to complete Loremaster! While most everyone is focused on the end-game now, sadly only viewing quests as Molten Front dailies, there's many interesting quests and rewards along the way. With 4.3 on the horizon, take some time before the chaos starts up again to check out some of the following quests. From silly to serious, you'll learn a bit about Azeroth's lore and collect some unique rewards along the way.
The first table covers interesting quest chains (by no means a complete list!), organized by continent. The second table covers quirky quest rewards--gear, pets, mounts, fun trinkets, consumables, disguises, and more! (Disclaimer: mild spoilers.)
Quests
Some old favorites were removed in Cataclysm--from small chains like saving Trey Lightforge in Felwood, to epic chains like Fallen Hero of the Horde. But there's still something for everyone, whether you're interested in completing

or just want a fun
