If your a rogue and you roll on this you need some serious help. Sure i will roll if their is no shaman,mage,warlock,priest, and yes even druids. But to roll on this when there is one of them in your party that Needs it then you need to switch to a different class because you make all rogues look bad.

Here some facts to make rogues like you think twice before rolling an this dagger:

I'm a lv54 priest and trying since several weeks to get this dagger. Along with a Cloudstone (which i already have)it would give me WAY more int than the Illusionary Rod that i'm using right now. Already twice i've lost a roll on this dagger, which broke my heart everytime.

Dear rogues, there are plenty of other weapons that you can use, but only very few 1-hand caster weapons. I have tried to sell a green 35 dps dagger with +agi and +str for as low as 3.5g in the AH and didn't get any bids - so the situation can't be sooo bad for rogues to get a decent weapon.

If in my party any rogue would dare to roll on this baby i would get him kicked immediately (or leave the party myself right on the spot), put him on my ignore list and shout every day in Orgrimmar that this player is a ninja looter. I would spoil his name.

i am a 60 rogue on mal'ganis. many many many rogues would want this dagger from its high dps. but the thing is, this is not a rogue weapon. the Blackstone Ring drops from princess as well, 6 stam, 1% chance to hit, +20 att. power, this is not a caster item. the thing is, if you rolled on an item that is not set up for your class in any end game instance, anyone will kick and blacklist you for being ignorant. it is a nice dagger damage wise, however the Satyrs Lash from the purple side is just as nice in terms of max damage, which is what you want when doing ambush/BS. and it isnt hard to wait a level to get the Lifeforce Dirk from temple, the exact same dagger as this only with +11 stamina. for a while through the mid-50s i used lifeforce in offhand due to the good speed, satyrs lash for ambush/BS, and Bonesnapper for SS and evisc. worked awesome. finally, for a rogue, with our 10 second or less fights, the 2 dps increase in a weapon wont make a terribly huge difference, its the way you play and your armor that makes the difference most of the time.

The princess dropped this dagger on my 3th run, but a lame@ss rogue rolled for it too "cos its better dmg then mine" (rofl) and won.
I needed 15 more runs for it to get again. So you all rouges who wanna roll for it 'cos its DPS, you are simply noob and ignorant. It is definitely from all aspects a CASTER dagger.

15 int vs 21 int, and you even got the mana regen as a bonus.. So why is ilu rod better? :p

More int is always better as caster ^^ Ilu is maybe better for mages cause of sta and spi, but for since im a priest, charstone and cloud stone is the best..

My main is a rogue, but if i rolled on this baby i would expect, and deserve to be blacklisted. Anyone who says a dagger with 1.60 attack speed makes for a good ambush weapon needs to get their facts straight, and while the dps is fair decent the 11 int bonus is gonna do absolutely nothing for you. This is the perfect weapon for any caster class with a semi-decent offhand item they've been waiting to equip. If u want an ambush dagger go get urself a shanker... its seriously not that hard.

I don't know.. I think it would have been okay for me to grab this weapon if a caster haven't been in our party. Sure I wouldn't gain anything from it other than dps, but that is quite alright when you still run around with a Black Menace as lvl 52...

I've recently hit 47 on my Shaman on the weekend, and Ive done all the Mara's. Purple once, Orange a few times. Princess... 16 times. 16 times I have gone to Princess and alas, no drop. I got the Hypertech Buckler and now I just want this dagger to help out the rest of my mana/sec gear. Just from running PRINCESS (not the best Exp) Ive hit 50. Im still looking for this until I get the Lorespinner -> Gift of the Elven Magi. With my clearcasting and already-high mana pool, this dagger is a must-have. If it dropped for me and any Rogue rolled on it... I'd kick him out of the group. Lets see what this dagger has for rogues.

Pros:
+Higher DPS than some Daggers that level. But wait...

Cons:
-Intellect.
-Mana/sec.
-Fast Speed (Sh1t for openers)
-Low max damage (Sh1t for openers)

...K. Whats that I see in the AH? A Julies Dagger? Nice speed for offhand, great proc. Buy that. Oh, Barman Shanker available for 50+? Go get yourself one. There are very little Caster daggers available to buy. IF any. Any caster that wants something different than a Staff has to run instances and pray it drops. As an Elemental / Resto Sham, I find it important to have the extra Armor from a shield incase things get nasty in melee. And if I need to kite, I pop a frostbrand on and hit a few times, then move out to continue.

So, come on Rogues. Think logically, 50+ is your time to shine with daggers, go grab some nice ones. As others have said, if you really want a Dagger for the 47ish levels, grab a Satyrs Lash. You'll be getting rid of it soon anyways.

Being a rogue, I would give the healer first pick for the dagger, however a Rogues damage is now multiplied by 1.7 as opposed to the speed... and higher DPS is what determines a better ambush/BS... stop whining... if you can benefit from the weapon at all... I say roll on it

I rogue tried to roll need on this and i kicked his ass. This has mana regen and +11 intel, dumbass greedy rogues trying to find as much dps should be tortured, gouged, neutered, and hanged for rolling. Rogues if there are no casters that can use this such as priests and shams roll on this. But this is obviously a caster weapon. Any intelligent person would know this belongs to a caster who can use it. I have a rogue and I know this is not for us. Rogues please wait for better weapons and dont complain about how rogues could use it which we cant unless for just 35.9 dps which we can fix at level 51.

Any Rogue that thinks this is a good Ambush and Backstab weapon is an idiot. DPS AND BURST DMG ARE 2 DIFFERENT THINGS

1-Not a Rogue weapon, HOWEVER, it makes a decent offhand weapon if no casters want it.

2-Slow daggers (not 1.60) are better mainhand daggers due to the higher burst dmg. SS, BS and Ambush do more damage with slower weapons.

3-Fast weapons make good offhand daggers because you do no burst dmg with your offhand dagger. So as long as the dps is good on the dagger, you're good to go. You'll also be able to apply poisons more often with your offhand.

4-Rather than piss everyone off and get black listed, go get https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=14900/coxotes-sal-gema for your main hand and https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=4822/disco-da-coruja for your offhand.

5-You're an idiot and still don't believe me. Notice the Barman and Julie's dagger have the same exact dps at 36.5. You still following? Now look above that number and you'll see 51-95 Damage for the Barman and 33-62 Damage for Julie's. That magic number is the burst damage.

Curious as to some casters' (esp. Priests') opinions as to how this compares to Hypnotic Blade https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=4015/armadura-encadeada-excelente in main hand with Orb of Lorica https://www.wowhead.com/tbc/item=5842/amostra-não-refinada-de-minério in off-hand.

Summary of Stats:
Hypnotic Blade: Int +8; Spi + 3; Healing and Spell Damage + 9
OR
Charstone Dirk: Int +11; Mana Restore 2 per 5sec

WITH
Orb of Lorica: Int +6; Spi +11

PS: Any non-mana using class (Rogues, Warrs, you know who you are) who rolls on this should die in a fire, in-game and IRL, IMHO.
Ironically, I could see the logic behind using Charstone as a off-hand for a hunter; I'd hate to say it, being a priest that would love this dagger, but it just might be a hunter weapon, and I mean that serioulsy)

Completed maraudon for 10 mins ago. And this dagger dropped. I needed it cuz of the mana regen and the rouge in the grp says : I NEED it to, its nice DPS! All in the grp just said LOL and he still needed on it, and I (the priest) LOST. Was so @#$%ing angry. Thats my life story, thx for me.

I am sorry for those with bad fortune in thier groups..That is why our guild makes every attempt to fill EVER spot with a guild member or do it without a "full" group..Which is sad because I know there are mid range guys who we could along but it's not worth it..For the reasons I see posted here.....I have the Dagger as a Feral Druid..Why?...ONLY because NOBODY else wanted it when I was asked to take our mid-40 guys through.I really wished a guildie who would have got more use out of it had been there.
This item DOES NOT drop often...I know because I lived in MARA for weeks getting every Blue Leather in there..and I am still running it to help my guildies.
Moral I guess is...Pick your party members wisely or Join a GOOD guild.

Got this last night from the princess, rolled on it between me and a mage and won. Granted, I was in shadowform the whole instance (we had a holy priest healing us), and feel that this is a great priest weapon, specifically one specced in shadow, and when I'm in the FSR (five second rule) a lot. Being in the FSR for any significant amount of time makes the mana regen worth a lot...sometimes over 10-20 spirit if you're constantly casting. I understand the points on how it may be able to benefit a lock or mage more, but for a priest doing lots of spell dps with VE, it can be very nice (although the actual high dps of the dagger itself is wasted).

I am a 51 rogue currently mainhanding this. Lol before you flame, let me tell you why:

In group were 2 rogues 2 wars 1 druid. Everyone greeded and i got it. I was like, hey nice DPS so i used it. This is a temporary weapon for me, cus im gonna go after a slower dagger. Being a sub rogue though, a dagger that actually competes with a sword in the 50's is kinda hard to come by.

I do realize its not an IDEAL rogue wpn, but hey its almost as much dmg as vanquishers sword (what i was using for mainhand b4) and i think 6 more dps does a little more than the attakc power bonus from vanquisher's sword.

As a mage i have been acculmulating great off hand items, but never have a chance to use them.

I have lost rolls on hypnotic blade and this blade many times mostly to caster but also greedy unthoughtful rogues.

I am going to buy this green one at AH

I'm so pissed off!

A few weeks ag i dinged 48 on my lock.. "YAY let's go mara! i want my dagger :):)"

Got a great group: Warrior, priest, mage (who already had it), myself and OH WAIT a rogue.
The rogue seemd pro as we moved further and further in the the instance, he saved lots of lives.
When we do get to the Princess we get mana up ans we owned her.
No dagger.
My group wanted another run, so did I.
We went again, smooth, no wipes. Got to princess,
YAY DAGGER!

I won this drop the first time i went to Mara, pretty sweet for a 51 mage. And the beastslaying enchant turns it red and looks tight.

Edit: I also had a pally 5 lvls beneath 49 roll need for it, but in the end I still won.

Id agree, its Priest first, then other casters (because we can get the focal sword, priests cant) ,then Rogue.

Rogues might argue about its good DPS, but hey, there are dozens of alternatives you can use. . For priests, this is it, this dagger is as pretty much the only thing on the entire game worth having this side of level 60 epics. If you are a rogue and you cant see that, then you are an idiot frankly.

Lol! a hunter ninja'd this from our 46 shaman today... the shaman was pissed and left

Then, the hunter tried to ninja the "Inventor's Focal Sword" from gizlock... but we had a 66 shaman with us who had seen it coming, and put need on it.
She won.. the hunter was all pissed and hearthed out

This dropped on a princess run together along with blade of eternal darkness.
Now whats a rouge to do when 2 daggers, both better than his offhand drop.

The only cast was a level 58 priest who didn't need either, i asked and needed on the epic dagger because it was cooler looking even tho it wasn't better. I greeded on this - and won that roll too! So now I the better of the 2, dps wise and don't know to stick for status-cool, or dps cool =/

As a Rogue I did Mara about 4 times (never getting a Satyrs Lash to drop more's the pity)And this dropped on my last run, none of the casters or priests wanted it (I was shocked I tell you shocked!) so I rolled for it and got a rather handy little knife for my unlucky Rogue. Did Mara tonight however on a lark and the Lash finally dropped. Wonder what I should do now?

Saw my first example of ninja looting today. I already have this dagger but my priest mate wanted it and rolled need, then the lev 56 rogue in our group rolled need too and won! Look at the stats, look at other daggers at that level for dps!

Or am I just being petty? I can't see how a rogue could get this over a shadow spec priest.

Needless to say it all got rather unfriendly after that :)

omg i love this weapon it is so good for a elementally spec'ed shamman with the mana regen and the intellect(i need mana a lot because of how much my spells use up mana) it is also damn good for windfury cause of the fast speed of the weapon omg i love it!

Get it 2 days ago from mara. Its imba! Ele shammy rocks ... have more mana than unbuffed mage (sometimes even buffed) and crited with it for 284 today somehow(without rockbiter) Still need gizlock shield ;(

Recently got this dagger and Cloud Stone (from landslide).. while i have been using Soulkeeper. testing it out, as a druid, I've found that i get only 2 less mana per tick with the dagger/stone setup but it basically makes up for it with the +2 every 5 seconds.. and you end up with 10 more int and faster strikes. In all, when combined with the cloudstone it is pretty equal to using Soulkeeper, which is a fairly pricey item.

Sure the dagger is nice dps, but it's not far from Lifeforce dirk, and a rogue can do ST at a fairly low level. Any rogue who rolled on this against any caster should die in a fire.
