The race to restore the Scepter of the Shifting Sands and open the gates of Ahn'Qiraj is the single largest world event in all of Classic WoW, particularly on large PvP servers. With so many players either racing to become Scarab Lords, or
stop others from earning it themselves
, faction PvP is taken to the extreme and players go to great lengths to achieve their goals. Today, we have a few videos from the Gehennas server (PvP-EU), which chronicle that conflict.
The Horde guild <Dreamstate> published a well edited video, showing
The Scarab War
from the viewpoint of various guild members. Highlights include the Battle of Duskwood, as Alliance players clash against the Horde in an attempt to prevent them from completing Scarab Lord, with hundreds of participants on either side. Despite huge amounts of lag with so many players piling into the same zones, it goes to show how far these communities are willing to go in order to participate in these huge server-wide events.
<APES> is well known as one of the most coordinated and dedicated Classic WoW guilds, having several notable achievements under their collective belts including the first
Ragnaros
&
Onyxia
kills, one of the earliest
Blackwing Lair
clears, and most recently finishing the obscene Scarab Lord grind in
less than a day
. Monkeynews put together a
similar video of highlights
from that impressive achievement, showing the world PvP, enemy capital cities, and PvE challenges the Alliance guild contended with.
