Domination Socket Helper Addon - Prevent Accidentally Destroying Shards of Domination
22/7/2021 em 16:38
After some players found out the hard way that
replacing socketed Shards of Domination destroys them
, WoW Addon author WatchThemFall has come up with
Domination Socket Helper
, an addon which prevents players from accidentally replacing or destroying their Shards. As seen in the gif below, the UI specifically prevents players from replacing Shards of Domination, while also adding a button that automatically uses the
Cinzel Fogo d'Alma
to remove already socketed Shards. Additionally, the addon will block item deletion and even automatically buy back vendored items which have Shards of Domination in them, ensuring you have to
try hard to actually get rid of the things!
Notice the error messages while trying to vendor or replace Shards of Domination.
While it would seem to make sense that attempting to replace Shards of Domination directly destroys them, just like replacing regular gems, it's also a bit strange considering how important they are. Early in the Patch 9.1 PTR, they were actually meant to be destroyed and reacquired rather than unsocketed, but this quickly proved problematic due to the upgrade system which would have encouraged not actually using shards when you got them. The version we now have in game is much better, but the
Cinzel Fogo d'Alma
feels like a last minute addition and the game doesn't try very hard to prevent you from accidentally destroying your hard earned Shards. This new addon alleviates that issue and should be a must-have download for even the most diligent players!
