This has an item budget comparable to the season 2 thrown weapon (ilvl 136), but like all world drop epic BoEs it's only ilvl 100. Expect a nerf and don't overpay for this.

Now a small upgrade from Felsteel Whisper Knives, right about where you'd expect a BoE epic to be. Don't know if the downraters were just in denial or maybe used all of their Blinding Powder on themselves to not see this coming... as long as I saved one person from an unwise purchase it's all good though ^^

Confirmed to drop in strong junkboxes from mobs that you can pickpocket. I got one while farming and pickpocketing the blood elves in shadowmoon valley, near the black temple.

A very nice throwing weapon indeed. ;)

Edit - I only farmed for an hour waiting on my guild to start Black Temple. It doesn't depend on how long you farm it for, it's like a random world drop, it could take 1 kill, or never drop. It's random.

Blizzard most likely added this item exclusively to pickpocket chests to keep this activity being worthwhile, after making Blinding Powder, the most attractive pickpocket loot (next to the odd Super Healing Potion), no longer required for blinding.

Confirmed to drop from Strong Junkbox...I personally got it from Cabal Skirmisher -lvl 63 mob in Bone wastes,doesn't matter what lvl mobs u pickpocket as long as they carrie Strong Junkboxes...so its no point pickpocket in insta and wipe the grp when resisted..:P

I guess if I get this in a lockbox it will be a nice upgrade from my FWN's I am still using. But with the upcomming nerf I dont see myself paying anything for them.

This is still likely the best thrown in the game even post-nerf.... maybe second next to the V.Glad thrown.

Check this.... It has post Nerf Spinesever as extremely highly rated. Its the only Thrown with Agility, Stam, Hit and AP. This is a bad ass little weapon.

I just got one of these yesterday on Burning Legion Alliance. I couldn't be happier with it. I had the SSC trash thrown. This has all the stats you would want as a rogue, and the damage on deadly throws is nice with it's high top end. And i can confirm it was out of a pickpocketed strong junkbox, while i was "not" farming mana tombs. When i first caught wind of this i was pickpocketing alot in SMV. This particular one was just a random sap. I added macros to all of my openers to trigger an auto loot pickpocket before sap, cheapshot or garrote. I highly suggest the same to any rogue.

Just choose the same icon from the macro menu as the opener, and replace the button in your toolbar. Piece of cake.

Anytime I try to stealth around the blood elves near black temple, my stealth is removed. By what, I don't know.

Just got this today out of a Strong Junkbox that I PP'd during a Heroic Sethek Halls run. I suppose this is compensation for the crappy group I got into :)

I was in a Slave Pens group and the rogue pick pocketed it. It doesn't matter where he pickpocketed because it wont be farmed. I just have to say, that guy was extremely lucky in finding that.
Well I am confirming it can be pickpocketed without it being in a lockbox.

Someone on Kel'Thuzad puts this on the AH today, and I whispered him and asked where he got it. He said from pickpocketing the Unyielding Knights (on horseback) at the Expedition Armory outside of Honor Hold. Can someone confirm if this is possible? They do not drop Strong Junkbox, they only drop Heavy, and I thought this item only comes from Strong Junkbox.

I got this from somewhere in Zangarmarsh on Duskwood (don't remember which mob because I save 5 boxes per level so I can advance my picking skills). But it was definitely from a Strong Junkbox.

I'm curious as to what the real value of this thing is, post nerf. Anyone have any opinions? I haven't had any luck selling it so far, but it seems to continue to go for 2000-2500 according to Allakhazzam (well after the nerf, which most people seem to think occurred in 2.4 for some reason).

Got this from a Strong Junk box that i pick pocketed off one of the trash mobs in normal Blood furnace. Don't know whether to sell it or keep it for 70. How much is it worth now that it's been "Nerfed".

you get this from Strong junkboxes found off the BE's at BT and Eclipse Poit, you have to pick pocket em to get the boxes, then you gotta unlock em (requires LP300) then open it, there'll be some reagents and cash inside, but its a VERY rare drop, ive been farming for 6 hours with no luck

LOL I just got one from PP'ing the Ogre's in Zangarmarsh. Lev 62 Ogre cough's up a lev 70 professor plumb... gotta love it when @#$% like that happens!

New Stats are:

Spinesever (2.3.2 PTR): ilvl 100
+11 Agility
+12 Stamina
Equip: Improves hit rating by 10.
Equip: Increases attack power by 20.

That also seems to actually fit the itemlevel 100 of random epics. Before it was more like 141.

Guildie got one on trollbane yesterday. Pickpocket in nagrand. Rogues name is crickett nightmaresend guild. If u have any questions. It can only be obtained through pickpocket.

I have been "grinding" for this for about a month and have cracked well over 2000 boxes and I have yet to find this thing. I even had to contact a GM to see if it actually existed still.

Got one last night from the mobs up in Netherstorm. Didn't even realize that I had gotten it until I checked my bags after some grinding. Have it up on the AH now on Antonidas if anyone is interested hit up Greven.

Unfortunately it's been nerfed quite a bit, back down to where it should be for an iLevel 100 item. It was good while it lasted but most people will go for the PVP one or perhaps the 10-mans.

Probably THE best throwing weapon for a dagger in the game right now. The only thing 'PvE-Wise' that's comparable to it is the Twisted Blades of Zarak.

I'd definitely say this is worth the 2000g+ that it would probably go for.

I got this item last night ....

I was in Shadow Moon Valley, killing blood elves and picking pockets from every mob.

This item was in a Stong Lockbox that I got from picking Pockets!

I cannot believe it still.

I put it to the trade channel and got zero response.

So being a rogue I have since equipped it, really nice item and I cannot believe how I got my hands on it!

This is a real drop, well not a drop, can only be obtained from pick-pocketing. Mobs over lvl 65 will give Strong Junkboxes, those are the only ones that can have it.

This seems to have been added to replace Blinding Powder... now that we don't need it anymore Blizz had to create a purpose for pickpocketing... a few poison mats + lowly greens every now and almost never just get old too fast and people stop pickpocketing to save time. Now that an epic BoE drops of of it... pickpocketing will become very fun. It's a friggin good thrown weapon too... best PvE one if you ask me.

Ok, you get it from Strong JUNKboxes, not strong lockboxes, its been confusing for me pick-pocketing things thinking that I was getting the wrong box because of the posts....after you figure out what box it drops from its easy to find the mobs that drop them

Farming for third night at work, full circles in "Eclipse Point" and "The path of Conquest" the second one is great if u have some points in improved stealth otherwise u will die quite often cuz not much of and escape paths there. BTW still nothing

Just got one from a junkbox from a magister at Mana Forge Duro or whatever. Had no idea these even exsisted, and I've probably pickpocketd thousands of level 70-72 mobs because I grinded out my Skyguard rep with shadow dust (and pickpocked every mob). I wouldnt sell it for the world, finally a throwing weapon I can be proud of.

Been farming this for three weeks now easily picked 5000 pockets and opened hundreds and hundreds of junkboxes and guess what :) still no drop :( lol I won't give up tho :D

This just dropped for me yesterday! It was from a Strong Junkbox that I picked from one of the Ogres in Blade Edge Mountain. The stats on this item is fantastic. I'm keeping this one.

tip for pick pocket, use a macro like right before u ambush or whatever it is u do while stelthed to pick pocket, u have to have auto loot on for it to work tho u get lots of locked boxes like this, had bank full with locked boxes at one time, didnt get anything good out of them but the usual reagents for poison or vanish and that rogues diary

been farming for this for a couple weeks now. have gotten a good 1k or so strong junkboxes in this time. i've gotten hundreds of healing pots, maybe 20 crappy green items and 1 The Night Blade. Still have hope of seeing a Spinesever in there soon

I looted one last night.I have been farming MT non heroic.
In total i have probably opened around 100 boxes looking for it,i put it on the AH for 999g start and 1299g BO and its had no interest at all. I think since the nerf it may be quite hard to sell.

Lvl 65 rogue here. I was grinding southwind cleft in Nagrand, had full bags, and i decided to trhow away some junkboxes. then i thought i could have found some potion in there, so i opened them, and eventually i could have thrown the potion reagents. well, it was in one of them. I'm looking forward to be lvl 70 to use it :-)

Hit 300 lockpicking about ten minutes ago, off a heavy junkbox in Scholomance. I then set to opening five strong junkboxes saved from Hellfire, as I needed space. First box dropped Spinesever.

Ok, realistically there is a small chance that you will get this item. But the best way to 'farm' it, is to go to Mana Tombs at level 70 and pick pocket all of the mobs.

Doing this, in 1 run and skipping about 15 mobs, I got around 25 lock boxes. And it took me about 10 mins. Ontop of that, you get 8s per pickpocket and 4-8s in the lockbox.

I found Spinesever on my 4th run and sold for 1050g. Definitely a drop in the pre-nerfed price of 3600g, but I'm not complaining :)

I've been collecting all my junk boxes and saving them on my priest mule. Finally got around to getting my lockpick skill past 300 and started rocking the heavy junk boxes, thinking to myself "how awesome would it be to get a spinesever?"
15th box, there it was. None of my friends were on so I couldn't amaze them with my luck. If I don't get an offer by the time I hit 70, it's going in my ranged slot for sure. If anyone on Proudmoore (A) is interested, send a /w or mail to Vexim.

Got this about 2 months back from a box I picked off the 63-ish Cabalists in Terokkar. Immediately equipped it over my green I'd been making do with. Linked it to guild chat. Got offers. "Sorry, it's soulbound." "No way, it's a BoE!" "Yeah, it was, but then I equipped it."
If you don't need the money you'd get for selling it, this is a great ranged with good stats, especially if you can get it right at 70 to up your stats and have a good weapon in that slot.

I've had it drop twice now - once from a box out in SMV, once from a box while pickpocketing in Mana Tombs.

I sold it the first time but equipped the second one. :)

I bought one off the AH for 1000g. It's worth it to me because I get gold pretty easy from trading and I figured I would not be willing to spend my arena points on a thrown weapon before other items. So I bought it and haven't regretted it once.
