New bow that drops from Zul JIn in Zul Aman . Comparing it to the Serpent spine longbow and Alar gun this is not better imo

Unfortunately we're still not seeing good 2-60-2.70 bows, while there are some guns or crossbows.
For a tight Steady/Auto-Shot macro, speed matters a lot. I'll explain:

The above lines are your Auto-Shot cast bar with Steady Shot cast bar underneath it.

Auto-Shot must not be 'clipped' - leave it alone, so to say. You fit a Steady Shot in between your Auto-Shots.
That's a basic Shot Rotation, and a very effective one for BM hunters.

Now.. let's say those lines represent a 2.70 speed bow. Now look what happens if you've got a 3.00 bow:

This means you cast less Steady Shots. And that means less DPS. This also means that, just to take some numbers out of thin air, a 2.70 bow with 50 DPS may well be a better choice for you than a 3.00 bow with 55 DPS. So if you want to follow a strict shot rotation, be ready to think twice about a few things. Pick up a few cheap bows with different speeds, pay dr. Boom a visit, you'll notice speed matters a lot.

This item's name was changed from "Ancient Sin'dorei Longbow" to "Ancient Amani Longbow" in patch 2.3.2. The following is my original comment, which may help explain why it was renamed.

It would have been more accurate to name this "Ancient Quel'dorei Longbow" as the name sin'dorei has only been in use for a few years.

As for those of you pointing out use of "sin'dorei" in Lament of the Highborne, it was written originally for Night Elves several millennia ago. As lead composer Russel Brower stated, it was a lament to fallen Night Elves, and a tribute to those whose bravery remained steadfast against overwhelming odds. (source) It has been modified from using "kal'dorei" to "sin'dorei." There are no known elves who were referred to as sin'dorei before the Third War.

No, the Sin'Dorei are what the Quel'dorei began to call themselves *after* the Sundering. The High Elves were called always called Quel'dorei.

Is anyone else disappointed in the graphic of this bow? It's the same as the bow from heroic SV.

This bow is also a very good option for fury warriors.
At 38 AP, this offers the most AP available in a ranged slot besides Tuskbreaker.

The armor penetration is also a very solid statistic to have in a ranged item.

Currently the best, or at least tied for one of the best, ranged weapons for Fury Warriors. Tuskbreaker is a close third.

Since patch 2.3.2 it has been renamed "ancient amani longbow" and the graphics and icon have changed, stats are still the same.

Huge disappointment considering the other weapons off Zul'jin are ilevel 138 and this is a lowly 132 (the only Zul'jin drop of any kind to be below 133). Hope this gets buffed to ilevel 138 soon but there's nothing in the patch notes about that yet. If it doesn't get buffed... then I will have a very nice looking bow that will forever collect dust in my bank after I save enough badges for the new badges crossbow.

The Ancient Amani Longbow, according to the damage calculations done by Cheeky's Spreadsheet (http://www.havoc-guild.us/Cheeky/), out damages the Crossbow of Relentless Strikes which has seemingly become the token Hunter weapon of choice in the past month.

It is in fact second only to the Bristleblitz Striker from Archimonde in terms of progression, largely due to it's Armor Ignore (usually called Armor Pen), as that can be the highest stable DPS gain for a Hunter. With a few other pieces such as Angelista's Ring, S3 Axe (or dual Dagger's of Bad Mojo), etc .. a Hunter can see a 300+ DPS increase on a Boss w/ 5 Sunder Armors on it.

This bow is worth investing in for most Hunters in the game, even those on a long waiting list for Archimonde's bow.

Possibly equal to the new Xbow from the Sunwell Badges. the AP and the Armor Penetration may tie DPS with the Xbow's Crit.

Personally i think this bow would be ideal for a marksman hunter, slow attack speed combined with a 15% increase from quiver sets it at about 2.5 speed which should fit in with the steady shot kill command autoshot rotation and leave in just enough room for a slight bit of lagg. these are just my thoughts

With all the Attack Speed Gear which drops in ZA, I got a pretty good Attack Speed with the 3.0 Bow and combined with much Attack Power you deal damn much damage without too much aggro.

Damage wise this bow isn't that good for hunters, 2.6/2.7 speed would be more favorable for a tight steady shot rotation. The stats on it are very good however, and would be great in the hands of a warrior or a rogue (for pve damage, anyway).
