My first trip to outlands i got this crossbow in the first 30 minutes. It was my first time using any crossbows and i was lvl 58, I am still using it at lvl 60 and it dominates in bg. Although it is a crossbow its speed is decent and it is a lot better than the bloodseeker. Aimed shot on this is decent and not as bad as you would think it is. If you are having any doubts on getting this as a hunter, dont, just get it. It really dosen't matter if you dont like using crossbows or whatever this one is nice! get this xbow, easy quest you can get it in thrallmar in the building that looks like the pvp building in orgrimmar. For the alliance your going to have to have some one else comment where you start this quest. But for horde its right in thrallmar and the quest isnt all that difficult.

since it's so fast, it's a great xbow to get, not only for stats or damage but also to get your skill up. second-fastest xbow ingame.

How does this compare to the Mag'har Bow or the Balanced Stone Dirk for an Arms warrior?

You will do the same amount of damage whit this on almost everyshot and crit almost the same all the time. Predictable damage!

Better than Bloodseeker and it's a REALLY easy level 58 quest in outlands. I just wish that it was a regular bow so I didn't have to work up the skill in it. Of course, I wanted to use it right away, but I needed the chance to hit and crit rating that I had with my Gryphonwing Longbow.

Don't know about all the folks that complain about working weapon skills...I had 1 in crossbow when I aquired this lovely piece at lvl 59 and had my skill up to 295 at lvl 60 in under 3 hours just using the darn thing in Blasted Lands before going back into Hellfire...

Great upgrade from most blue and green ranged weapons you would level with before outlands, really easy to get too.

Leveling ranged weapon skill is very easy.

Iam a lvl 59 BM hunter, is this bow really that good that i should get it?

Just hit 60.. i had a bow with 33.8 dps +5agi +4int..

This 1 is a DPS upgrade + some stats.. only thing i really dislike is the limit dmg output.. but hey.. for a free bow as a reward for a real ez quest.. cant complain. ;)

Not planning on staying with it for 2 long..

I use this as a 61 (just dinged ill get something better soon)BM hunter i get 1.01 speed with this when i have rapid fire, iAoTH, and quickdraw quiver equipped. I've had this since lvl 58, and it's amazing. Im now downing mobs (61-62) before my rapidfire goes out. Better have intimidation ready for BM specced cuz you'll pull agro very quickly.

Currently I use heartseeking crossbow and I got the repeater from the quest. But it seemed to me that repeater does not make more dps than heartseeking xbow although repeater's stat is 8 dps greater. Is it just me or can hertseeking be better than ironstar repeater? I really doubt which to use.

although that is true, it only counts to melee DPS, and as you know, hunters are way better in ranged DPS. yes you do have atleast 2 melee actions but that is more for if your in a bg or a mob gets aggro on you and you can't lose it.

i am a lvl 58 BM/Marks hunter i have Hurricane bow right now with a scope that adds +7 damage is that better than this crossbow? Only thing about Hurricane is that it has no stat upgrades on it.

took it for my rogue - because of the nice stats.

then realized that at 62 I get Deadly Throw which requires throw wep :/

For those thinking of upgrading from the bloodseeker, one point you should take into account...

This looks so much better! Nice heavy crossbow, not like the wooden toy look of the seeker. Any hunter who understands the importance of looking good will take this xbow.

Also it has much better stats, but that's not as vital of course.
