Also a reference to Tigole Bitties, EverQuest character of Jeffrey Kaplan. Kaplan was once the guild leader of a Legacy of Steel (an EverQuest guild), and is now World of Warcraft's Lead Designer.

As a rough guess from the name, I'm guessing it drops from the fishing quest monster in Zul'gurub.

Pretty crappy. If the attack power wasn't conditional it might be worth it, if it was 1% crit instead of 2% hit it might be worth it, but as it stands aside from dps Ice Barbed Spear puts it to shame.

this item is no good for hunters. it has�nt any agility on it and it only adds attack power when fighting beasts. it dont add to crit chance either. and the nice melee dps dont mean much to a hunter.

when i play my hunter i hardly ever use my melee weapon for attacking. im looking for some nice atributes on a melee item more then actual dps
this aplys both for pvp and pve

altogether i would say this is a really crappy item for a hunter. if u want a polearm for ur hunter i would suggest the ice barbed spear. u get it for a reward in the alterac valley BG. its rather easy to get and a much better hunter item then this.

"when fighting beast" that totaly ruins it. IF it were just 60 AP then i would totaly want for my hunter.

When I see a polearm drop in a raid dungeon, AND it has the name of some Blizzard running-joke-type-thing plastered on it, I'd expect it to be really powerful. In reality this is only a situational weapon, and that situation is when you're fighting beasts. Otherwise, stick with the good old fashioned Ice Barbed.

Also, the quest for the IB Spear got changed in 1.8. You now have to complete the battlegrounds to earn it.

This is a very nice weapon for hunters especially in mc fighting Mag you need that 2% to hit and the attack power is very nice when fighting beast :)

I'm a 60 Hunter and we cleared ZG last night. This dropped and nobody wanted so I took just for the stamina. Thought I could use it in PvP for big hits when those damn rogues get too close.
Before doing my research I got Lifestealing enchant on it for 40g and immediately regretted it after doing some dueling. First, this weapon is fairly new to the game and has not been designed to glow yet, so no glow. Second, Lifestealing is meant for fast weapons... like if you're a dual weilding rogue/warrior/hunter... NOT to be put on a 3.30 speed Polearm. I had a flat melee duel w/ a Pally and stole 31 health ONCE during the entire fight because I only hit him five times.
This weapon does a TON of damage for what it's worth. Crits for 340-550 damage.

Anyone who farms beasts for rugged leather or whatever will like this... either a hunter or melee-er.
Get beastslaying enchant on it, and let the show begin!

ROFL beastslaying? doesn't that go up to like...6 dmg? You can go up to 9 weapon dmg, and there are way better enchants then +9 dmg...

This one drops from a summoned boss in ZG i think. You need to fish some special fishes in there and throw it in the water and he wil lcome. This one droped on my first ZG run but i think Ice BArbed spear is better for me(Im a hunter)its better with agi an stam on you wep then 2% hit

Everything in ZG is a beast. This is a ZG stick for a hunter or fury warrior.

I'm also constantly told the +2hit is needed in BWL. hunters are worthless without +hit.

I've been thinking about this one, and trying to figure out when anyone would possibly ever want to use it. At first glance, it screams "hunter"...but the +AP beasts is very limiting (though it's insane when you actually get a chance to use it...for instance, the tiger and panther bosses in ZG).

So far I've decided this is a really special purpose weapon for hunters and tanks:

1. Difficult beast fights, like the tiger and panther bosses in ZG (but c'mon...are you really going to keep this in your bags just for this? Please...do everyone a favor and just roll on the shard)
2. Resist gear fights, where you completely gimp all other stats in order just to survive a particular school of magic. Your +hit goes down the tubes, so you have to look for every piece you can to bump it back up
3. Feral druids...let's face it, they get crap to choose from, and if you don't get lucky with Nat Pagle's Fish Terminator dropping and you're not clearing MC yet, this may be an upgrade over what you've got in the meantime

Aside from these, chances are you've already got a better weapon. Ice Barbed Spear is pathetically easy to get, and even Peacemaker or Barbarous Blade is quickly farmed in at most 3 or 4 Baron or DM Tribute runs (both of these so fantastic for hunters that you should dig deep in your pocketbook and slap on +25 agility as soon as you get back into town.)

So to sum up...disenchant this crap and roll for the shard.

To be honest I'd rather use Ice Barbed Spear just for stats, i mean Tigule's doesn't hit for that much more, I'd rather keep 20 agil, and the strength

for which class? warr should hate it they can get the reaper for a little time of farming or as i said the icespear from alteracvalley wich has better stats. 3.30 sucks for warr.

Alright. Ima warrior. This wepon is good for any class that can use it. Just because. Godzilla or w/e in ZG isnt a hard kill and its very good pre MC/BWL.
