It's a unique-drop mount, so all races can ride it. Same goes for the Swift Razzashi Raptor or Fiery Warhorse. The race-specific rules only apply to the generic mounts for each race.

This is mostly correct, except for the Winterspring Frostsabers -- while the Trainers are technically a neutral faction, only Alliance are able to get those tigers, which has long been an issue of contention with Horde. Apparently Horde were supposed to get a similar Raptor faction in Un'Goro, but this was never implemented.

Nobody seems to have mentioned so far that this is the same mount as Adam Eternum's Battle-Tiger, clearly a homage/parody of He-Man's Battle Cat. The colours are different, but then I suppose we can't have everything.

I am Kaienta from Stonemaul Alliance side and I am a proud owner of this mount...I didnt have my epic mount until I rolled a 97 against the rest of my guild (Verndari)in ZG...I feel everyone else in my guild had the right to roll on this...Yes this mount is too rare and getting this mount is a symbol of a players RAID time...I always get stopped while riding and I tell everyone where to get one...I dont care if someone allready has an epic mount because when it comes to rarity all member who work with each other to have this lil tiger drop all have the rights to claim!

Its a beautiful mount i give it that. I'd love to have it. I grinded a long time to get my epic mount. Some people dont have that kind of time and i think it would be a generous gesture to let someone who dosent have an epic mount have this bad boy. But in truth it is just an epic drop that EVERYONE has a right to roll on. Generousity is just something to think about.

According to Allakhazam (yes, i came to thottbot first; it doesnt have the drop rates), there is a 0.80% chance, or 1/125 chance, of dropping off High Priest Thekal. Divide that by the 20 people in your raid, and you get 1/2500. I think farming for four months would be easier than running Zul'Gurub 2500 times.

I rolled a 98 against 20 people, some guilded, some not. I think that since it's very rare (What is it, .02?) that everyone, with an epic or not, should be able to roll on it. Why should the people who haven't ponied up the 800 gold for the mount get rewarded for it?

It's such a rare thing that everyone should roll.

dropped tonight. Our guild has a very good system worked out. We use a Zero Sum DKP system and have ZG points seperate from other instances. Many of us in the guild have been around farming ZG, learning the fights from Veno up. our system allows everyone to roll regardless of mount status. they roll 1 - points earned

for instance i had 263 points earned. we tack an extra 100 on for everyone so i
/roll 1-363

i rolled 100... /cry

however our OT and highly dedicated member of our guild had 346 points earned in ZG, the most of any player in the guild.
he /roll 1-446

he got 443

needless to say he won this beautiful mount and no one was angry. He had worked his tail off for this mount and everyone was givin a chance at it. just the people who had been around longest had a (much) higher percentage at winning it!

My main is Kaienta, I play on Stonemaul Server. I have been a proud owner of this Swift Zulian Tiger since December of 2004. This mount is the biggest attention grabber in all major cities as well. Fortunatly I was the first to get this mount from my guild with a winning roll of 97 on my first 20 man raid.

My view towards arguements from Noobs saying "I dont have a epic mount it should mine" is as follows. This mount would no day in hell drop for you without the help of the 19 other members in your raid to kill the boss or clear the zone. Any drop which is considered unique and can used by any class has the right to roll for this mount because of it is rare. If a player with a winning roll decides to either (A: Sell to a fellow Raider before looting) or (B: Keep it for himself) its the winning rollers choice.

Yes I got mine based on luck or fate, but the point being is stop being greedy and stop whining and just try your luck to earn this mount, thats right earned because people never get anything for free without giving a little. Good come to those who wait!

I got this mount in December. My guild decided to do a random 1- 100 Roll. One person rolled a 96, I (paladin) rolled a 97.

Now there needs to be some way for Horde players to get GRYPHONS....gryphon > "wyvern"...it's not even a real wyvern. Real wyverns are like dragons but with two legs. The horde flying mounts look like what would result from a lion, a bat, a scorpion, and a LOT of liquor...of course, Nether Drake > all.

If u go to Shattrath City, the Arathi Basin Battlemaster for the Alliance,Adam Eternum, he has a Swift Zulian Tiger pet, called Battle-Tiger, if u really want to see a 360 degree view, this is your best chance to do that. peace =]

Also, although the battlemaster has the same name as He-man when hes not in....his loincloth, and the tiger is next to him, this mount looks nothing like He-mans mount, and if u dont believe me, look at the Adam Eternum page here, his mount is green with a redish orange face plate on.......:]

I got this mount for about 1 and half year ago, and I still can't stop loving it.. People ask me where i got it, and when I mention ZG, they don't even know what it is..

My questions is: Someone told me Blizzard removed this drop from Tiger boss because it was so easy to grind the boss, and get the mount.. Does anyone know anything about this case?

Otherwise I will recommend for everyone (especially Horde) to get this..

I got this baby about half year ago in a pickup raid. (no us servers) People didnt roll for items, they actually bid. I won this baby with about 1100gold. (lol I only had 800 something at the time, I had to barrow from a friend in that raid)

This mount is amazing and surely draws attention.
It's prolly the most worthy 1000gold I've spent.

And it's that everyone has the right to roll for this, n00b shut up!

Dropped for us 3 days ago on our 70th run, we were 4 manning this boss. My roll was kinda hilarious, only 2 lol (lowest roll there).

We had been farming it for about six months, and finally got it to drop on our 57th kill. We were very lucky considering the drop rate.

You can kill Thekal with a four man group. We did it with a warrior, paladin, shaman and druid. Very, very easy. Warrior MT, paladin OT, shaman DPS and help interrupt Lor'Khan's heals and druid heals the group. Took us about ten minutes (max) per kill.

I have been playing WoW almost since release, PRE BC, ZG every 3 days, my pre BC toon is EXALTED with zandler tribe ( sorry if spelling is wrong ) and I HAVE NEVER seen the ZULIAN TIGER drop, NEVER NEVER NEVER..

UNTIL

My guild was doing kara few weeks ago, i know, its not hard, anyway, we got done early, did a full clear in like 2 hours, chain pulled, was cake, we got bored and decided to go to ZG, i said sure why not knowing that this mount wont drop and its not even worth to go, i might as well go eat or something, watch TV, so i say ok, ill tank zg. So since we were all 70, we only brought in like 5 people who wanted to go and went for fish boss first, we thought, hey, polymorph turtle sells for at least 2k on our server, lez do it. SLAM ghaz'ranka but NADA, only the polearm, we went to hit tiger boss, I explained the fight for everyone since 3 of them were BC players and never did any pre BC raids, simple enough, we kill all 3 within a second of each other, thekal pops with only 50% instead of 100% because of how close together we dropped them, thekal becomes tigerboss and we tank and spank him, i instantly click on the corpse to let everyone know what dropped, and the stage of SHOCK i went into, MY jaw DROPPED!, and i stood staring at the sexy purple writting saying SWIFT ZULIAN TIGER, everyone rolled, our holy pally rolls 100 on the nose, NOW! I have been farming this for about 2 YEARS, AND NEVER GOT IT, so I offered my pally buddy few thousand for it, he accepted and I finally got what I wanted.

Next, we say F it, and lets kill bloodlord ( raptor boss )
we get to him, I explain the fight, blah blah, we down him and my JAW DROPPPPPED EVENNNN MOREEEEE AS WE GOT BOTH MOUNTS IN ONE NIGHT tiger and raptor, I HOWEVER, did not roll on the raptor as in I didnt want it. Moral of the story is, DREAMS DO INDEED COME TRUE, KEEP GRINDING ZG

Swift Zulian Tiger = 0.70% Drop Rate which is .7%
Swift Razzashi Raptor = 0.43% Drop Rate which is .4%

So to have the luck of .4% and .7% in ONE NIGHT, is mhmm luck maybe? or did ZG jus bug? or....does a GM like us?

we will never know, just keep those hopes up, and run ZG when ur bored

then we went to Heroic Ramparts and we clearred it after that we desided to go ZG because it was resetted...
We went to Thekal, Killed him AND THE MOUNT DROPPED! I was shocked and i offered 1000gold for everyone to pass the mount who was killing Thekal at that night
Everyone passed the mount (i rolled 100 on it that was oblivious :P ) and bling... I got the mount.
The mount costed 3000gold for total but i really think that it was worth it.

We had farmed the mount for 1 month and few days.
The mount dropped REALLY early...

we also went to Bloodlord mandokir and we killed him... no mount.

One Day While Ganking allaince in Strangle Thron Vale for killing his best freind RawMetal he came accross a Human Mage . WarMetal Sper him and ass a Reward he Told him a Secret Mount CALLD the Zulian Tiger Mount who was tamed by the Trolls in Zul'Gurub and Used as a riding mount. WarMetal thot for a moment. WarMetal thankd that Orcish speaking human by Ice Trapping him and Wing Clipping him sevral times be4 letting him go and helpd him with a few quest, At ONCE warmetal Spammed the LFG Channles and the trade channles looking for Brave horde looking for there chances to get a awsome mount.

At first many people was calld crazy For going into a level 60 insance he was calld a noob,crazy,retard,idiot and my favort a C**** Sucking good for nothing S*** weed. War Dint mine munch he Rallyd the groups and so on so on. WarMetal got wisperss from all accross AZEROTH of horde begging to do ZG ...Most of them Waiting for the Frostwolf clan to call them into Alterac Vally "being that the in the stormpike army was losing memebers due to the BoyCott".As WarMetal rallyd his 20 horde and begone his raid on Zul Gurub.

Now Warmetal Was a Young Horde and was still InExperience be4 trall send the horde into the Dark Port. War had no idea who dropd this mount or were to find him OR how to beat him. As the horde lookd at there leader Yelling at him and wispering him to pass the raid to them. 6 hours later with 6 lost men warmetal got to the High Priest Thekal whitch was Flexing and showing how stong he was. He had 2 guards with him .at first Warmetal and his raid were doomd now knowing how to kill this priest nor his zelots. By time he got to know the fight better and better as his raid grewcloser and closer to beating him...at last after 4 attempts he Killd and Looted Thekal..nothing dropd and his fellow horde shook there heads and hearthstone away but as WarMetal Was about to leave the blood god hakkar cursed him just as he left....a curse without a name ...the curse of the Zulian blood

WarMetal raided Zul'Gurub ... but with this curse he grew more greedy..more evil ... more angry . WarMetal had a Masevie need to spilll blood he begon killing Alliance Who were only trying to quest and Single handedly Raided Out post in both outland and AZEROTH Spilling Blood eveywere he went..he begone to Put Master Looter and ninjaing items Other Fellow horde needed. with less and leaa people trusting him his raids for Zul Gurub became harded and harded to come by..about 3 weeks after his first zul gurub run warmetal wen once again to zul gurub putting master looter claiming others horde needed loot witch other horde need. As He Made the Last blow to Thekel he heard a Roar or a tiger ..it was the Zulian Tiger apperd .WarMetal Was AMAIZED by its sexyness..coolness.awsomeness . The Raid Cheerd and rolld for the right to ride this mount.

When I do this boss

I would usually bring 1 tank 2 rogues, a healer, and a mahge or something.

You have the tank tank thekal, have the 2 rogues, PULL and TANK the other 2 trolls, one is a rogue , one is a shaman, have a rogue kicking when she heals, and just keep ur DPS
ORGINIZED, and HAVE COMMUNICATION.

All 3 must die within about 10 seconds of each other, like OPERA in kara, or SM cath. If you DPS one down too far, keep them around 10% until the other 2 get down to about the same. If the shaman hits 10% jus keep ONE rogue on it, so he/she can just kick everytime she heals. Once all 3 are around the same, DROP THEM, and pick ip thekal, hez a tank and spank.

Good luck on ur tiger, I already got mine!

i hate ZG... my guild does ZG 3 times a week, Tuesdays, wensdays , and fridays, we been killing both this guy and the raptor guy, niether have droped if fact ive never done a quest for the tribe and im alrdy exhaulted... thats how much i do ZG, nothing droped... ive killed each atleast 50 times..... im sure ill drop evenually, i guess its just bad luck..

I think indeed that the droprate is ingreased..

Our guild did 2 differend runs to ZG last night, for RG2 dropped the raptor mount and in RG1 the Tiger mount..Unbelieveble..

Hallucination on Lothar got this mount and a Swift Razzashi Raptor in the same run. I didn't win either of them, but it was amazing nonetheless. A tome of polymorph: turtle dropped too!

Based on the number of people that have reported getting this mount since ZG openned, I'm thinking that its droprate is nowhere near as rare as the Baron's Deathcharger. The same can be said for the Swift Razzashi Raptor. If you want an epic mount drop, go play in ZG, and forget the Baron. (Of course, a 0.25% droprate still isn't stellar.)

i picked this up last week on one of our raids. (night before we took down hakkar 2.0 for the first time)

we ended up just random rolling for the mount as it wasn't fair that the people without epic mounts should be the only ones rolling (as this is a status symbol) and the people with epic mounts put in the time/money to get theirs.

i love this kitty, i've been waiting for it since i found out about this mount not long after ZG came out, first time i've ever seen it drop (zg came out 3 level 60 characters ago) the roll spam was obnoxious and at first i had thought i rolled a 2, fellow warlock rolled a 91, everyone thought he won it, RL said "OMG, grats to chilly on the 96".

later on a guildie said, "i'm glad chilly won it, i don't think anyone else would have been as happy as he is for getting it, i'm glad you won it bud"

i'm still gleeming with this :D

Dropped on Stormrage Saturday, the 17th, for Ale and Arms, but due to a glitch with ML not coming into effect in time, because I was dead when I switched it over, it went public and was ninja'd by a PU filler named Kaidesity.

GM's wouldn't help, and closed all of our petitions before we could respond.

I ended up talking to the Senior GM of SR for about 45 minutes, which resulted in telling him off and /ignoring him, because they refused to fix the problem that their looting system caused due to a glitch.

This has not dropped for my guild yet and we are running ZG once a week - so it may never drop :P.

Thing is though, and I know that this is a point of contention, I feel that if you already have your epic mount - from a untilitarian point of view - there is no point rolling / spending DKP getting this mount. In fact although I could not / would not stop fellow guildies who already have an epic mount rolling / spending DKP on this - I'd be disappointed in them for doing so.

My logic goes like this: If you already have an epic mount you are actually weaking your guild by taking this, as other guildies will now have to spend 800 Gold (or however much it is) or months in the BGs (ie time not spent helping out the guild or each other and improving their characters) getting one. You can buy a lot of stuff with 800 Gold.

For the people who think it's a status symbol, well... I think the thing that gets you respect or status in your guild or even on a server is how you treat others and how much you contribute, not the colour of your mount.

Food for thought anyways.

btw - I reckon raptors are the coolest looking mount in the game (esp epic ones) but this tiger is about as close as it gets lol. Consequently the other one you get off the Blood lord would be my choice - but that's just me ;) they both look great. Grats to the mounted.

Don't know about the droprate but on Kael'Thas (EU) either we are the only one to kill him or we are dead lucky : 2 in a row on 5th and 6th kill !

I won this mount last tuesday ... after being exalted with Zandalar 999/1000 for over 2 months... We used dkp as we always do for purples... I had the most dkp, i ve spent it all till the last point to get it... I was already exalted with darnassus and had already an epic saber... but this baby.. it just ROCKS!
And for all those saying that everyone has the right to roll i would reply... not roll mate... use dkp... i would never accept someone who just joined the guild to have the same possibilities with the others that farm ZG for ages, for such rare items... no bloody way mate!

Yes it is a symbol of status as ppl comment, and for guild runs, dkp in my personal opinion should be used. And i dont get it with those ppl that argue that if u have an epic mount u shouldnt really bother to go for it.. this is so pathetic...

Guild was doing a ZG run for fun tonight and it dropped, outrolled 14 people for it with a 96 :) now one of I think 3 on Kilrogg horde side with it.

Someone mentioned that 1.9.3 increased the drop rate.

A day or two ago, it sais 0.74, now it's 0.86. I wonder how it'll look in a week or a month :)

I got one not too long ago. I dont know how many people on my server have it. I kinda regret winning. Dont get me wrong. Its Pimp. But I get 100 tells a day asking where I got it. Plus some of my guildies have a strong dislike towards me now. I try only riding it when need be. I dont want to get yelled at for "showing off" Oh well tis the life. However I fully plan on rolling on the Raptor LOL.

This Saber is a rare drop from Sumo Sacerdote Thekal in Zul'Gurub.

Another drop in this instance is the Raptor Razzashi Veloz.
